Concept

Bubble — where it appears

A pocket of gas or vapour inside a liquid, bounded by an interface whose tension pushes inward with a pressure of 2σ/r. It grows once the surrounding liquid falls below the pressure that balances that tension, and a bubble filling a tube's bore rises at a speed set by the bore rather than by its own length.
